Clayton opened its doors in the fall of 2006 and has grown to be one of the district's biggest elementary schools. Our community is composed of many energetic and dedicated parents, administration, staff and partners. With our combined efforts during Clayton's early years, we have successfully created a nurturing academic and social environment for our young students.
Our school is named after Mrs. Nan Clayton, an ardent contributor to the education and local communities. She served for many years on the Austin ISD School Board as a member and as Board President. Mrs. Clayton is still active in the community and supports her school with passion. We are fortunate to have her - thanks Nan!
Clayton is located on over 14 acres in the middle of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Many old native trees and plants surround the campus, in addition to new native plantings. The building's architecture blends in seamlessly with with its natural surroundings and also incorporates earthy colors inside.
